Now, you already know that there is a big community that creates plugins for Total Commander. Unfortunately you have to search for them and then install them in the plugins director and for some of them to make some changes in the .ini file. Well PowerPack can do this alone. You have to install all the package which includes also the Total Commander version 6.54a.
From the start you can choose the language you want, what plugin to install, and what skin should have.
From the first version TC had a very ergonomic interface based on Norton Commander interface. The classic style based on working with two panels, left and right and the ability to perform almost any edit function with shortcut keys made this software so popular. All these characteristics are present also in the last version of the software.
The actual PowerPack brings besides the classic Total Commander a lot of plugins (over 60) automatically configured. There’s no need to explain all the new features. I can say that the software much more compact than before. The main menu is extanded based on tabs that can be configured and a lot of quick access buttons for desktop, My Computer, fonts, network, search, control Panel, etc.
Beside the access buttons and tabs, the pack includes some aplications included in Total Commander, like: calendar, CD/DVD burner, HTTP Browser, Mail viewer, RAM Copy (virtual RAM drive). Every application is working, just try it.
The older users of Total Commander already know about the magical key F3. If you want to view an image, press F3, if you want to listen an audio file press F3, if you want to view a video file again press
F3. All these commands are based on the Lister application that can view text files, Open Office files, or multimedia files.
